Hello, friends. Welcome to my “About Me.” I’m Stephanie Peace (yes, I have the greatest last name ever), wife, mom of 2 boys and 0 girls, daughter, aunt, sister, friend, educator, colleague; and if we want to go down the Meyers Briggs personality test route; intuitive, introvert, feeler, and judger….(Go ahead and imagine my voice trailing off here as the never-ending list of “me’s,” well, never ends)….
Honestly, if I spurted out every little piece of “me” that contributes to “me,” you would never get past the “About Me” Monday Mayhem.
I truly can be defined using all the generic labels I just rattled off, especially since, for instance, the definition of a wife is a married woman (really?) and the definition of a mom is a female parent (seriously?).
BUT, the definitions don’t really tell you who I am, not that person I am at my very core when all the definitions are stripped away and I’m left with just…well, me (or am).
On the one hand I’m a fairly complex, complicated individual (refer to the “me” list), but on the other hand, who I am is so very non-complex.
I am a grateful believer in Jesus Christ.
That, my friends, is who I am, for I am nothing (not a wife, not a mom, not an educator, not an introvert) without Him, Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, who died on the Cross for my sins (and yours).
We’ll chat more about the undeserving gift of the Cross in many future blog posts, but for now, know that who I am is utterly and completely based on who He is.
And this blog is my way of sharing Him (and me) with you. This blog, my friends, is my Jesus story, a story of seeking, finding, connecting, and receiving His peace in the midst of a minefield of definitions and Monday mayhems, and I pray it will help you navigate your own fields where all paths can lead to Him.
So go ahead and add “storyteller” to my “me” list because, as Arabella Katherine Hankey wrote in what would become an old, classic hymn (and one of my all-time favorites):
I love to tell the story,
’Twill be my theme in glory,
To tell the old, old story
Of Jesus and His love.
Stay tuned for Faith-Full Friday, friends. I’m just getting started.
