As Sharehispeace.com celebrates one year of writing, we decided to talk about the past. Past is an entirely relative term. There’s 10 minutes past, days, weeks, or months past. There’s even more distant past like before I was born; the kind of stuff you read about in history books past.
Forgive me because I’m likely to jump all over the timeline as I write on the topic of past this week.
Let’s start with this past year since we’ve just celebrated our first year of writing! Honestly I had no clue what I was signing up for when Stephanie and I first met. She shared her vision with me and it sounded exciting! Writing has been one of my passions for a long time. Sharing about how good God is has also been a passion of mine. Writing for sharehispeace.com presented me with the opportunity to do both at the same time!
I thought I’d have the opportunity to be a blessing to others. Little did I know God had intended a special blessing for me. Writing for sharehispeace.com has connected me to some really amazing women. They’ve come along side of me and carried me through some difficult times this year.
That brings me to a more recent past. This week has been hard. I’m sitting in a hospital room with my son who’s been sick all week following a lumbar puncture. I should have brought him here sooner, but I couldn’t because I spent much of the week at the doctor myself. My friends have shown up in amazing ways to be a blessing to me. I have been completely overwhelmed by the love and support of those around me in the past few days.
You know the past isn’t perfect. It can be filled with great sorrow or deep pain. It can also be filled with joy and love. My experience is that the sorrow is mixed we the joy and the pain is mingled with love.
This week as we wrap up our talk on the past, I want to encourage you to keep your perspective balanced. Don’t look back on just the bad. Pick up your glasses. Put on your joy shades, and see the good too!
I’m looking forward to Friday! I can’t wait to share some more about the past with you. It’s exciting to me, and here’s a hint: I’m planning to talk about the kind of past we call history! There are some pretty amazing things that happened way before you or I were ever born. Let’s chat Friday!
